We've had a couple of proper frosts now.

The other night it fell to about minus one or so for most of the night, and the night after that too. So Winter is almost here!

Today has been quite mild, though, for November! Yesterday I popped in just to check on the plot as I had been away.

It was cold and quiet. Just the dry leaves rustling in the trees. the plot is absolutely covered in fallen leaves now. Free organic matter! I cleared up a pile from the path to make leaf mold, but the rest I will leave on the soil for the worms. I saw a fascinating photo of a worm pulling a fallen leaf down under ground.

This week I plan to finish off my coldframe - it has been without a lid. I also hope to finish the new mim-greenhouse that I built at the side of the house. It is not a fancy affair - just made with an old window and some plastic roofing - but I did get a little heater for it so It will be good for starting early next spring.

Apart from that, it will be just a bit more tidying up for me!
