First Post! Beginning with a compost bin...

The weather today was strange. Damp and dreary to begin, followed by high winds and a massive downpour, folllowed by a cool but sunny evening.

In the evening sun, I brought a few bits of wood and a panel of an old shed to my allotment. It will make a fine compost bin. I will post a pic or two of it here when I have finished it. I am hoping to have two sections so that I can turn the compost from one bin to the other.

At five o'clock my plot was nearly all in shadow. It is a fairly shady plot, with a tall bank of trees to the south. I find it is ok in the summer, but the light in spring and autumn is not great. I do manage to grow, so it mustn't be awful!
